So, grab yourself an Adirondack chair, kick off your shoes, and settle in for a beautiful escape from the everyday. Your Super-Host, Ross Furman, lived in Eastport as a child and always wanted to come back and own a place on the island. In 1987 he purchased the 1790 Captain Jacob Lincoln farmhouse on Cobscook Bay and so began his adventure in the magical place now called Rossport. His passion and enthusiasm for the beauty, character and culture of the surrounding region is infectious. Rossport comprises 80-plus beautiful acres of land with a mile and a half of ocean frontage, providing an intimate relationship with wildlife, flora and fauna. Watch a deer chewing away in a meadow, or a bald eagle soar above your deck as you enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, and listen as the sea gulls gather on the island in front of your cottage to bed down for the night. And there are millions of stars over Rossport on a clear night. Rossport is also a farm – fresh eggs daily from eleven hens, Belted Gallaway(Oreo) cows roam in their field and an organic garden is growing fresh veggies and herbs. Many guest return year after year, savoring the quiet of Rossport and the incredible fresh seafood the fishing boats bring into Eastport each day (only 2 miles down the road), the hiking, kayaking and canoeing, Eastport and Downeast are truly authentic Maine and many guests return year after year, savoring the quiet of Rossport and the incredible fresh seafood the fishing boats bring into Eastport each day (only 2 miles down the road).
