86th Street Orchard

Located just north of Topeka in Kansas, our orchard is a quaint, family-run operation offering a delightful selection of u-pick fruits, vegetables, and local honey. Over fifty years, Cathy and Kenny Hamilton have transformed 86th Street into a labor of love, growing a variety of apple, peach, and cherry trees alongside blackberry and blueberry bushes.

Our orchard is home to many different fruit trees, including apple varieties like Delicious–Red & Yellow, Winesap, Granny Smith, Fuji, and Ein Shemer. We also nurture Kansas and Stella cherry trees and a semi-dwarf sour cherry tree that reliably produces fruit year after year. Our pears are good ol’ Bartletts, and we have a delightful selection of peach trees as well. Complementing this fruit collection are our blackberry and blueberry bushes, which yield a lovely harvest each summer.

In addition to growing fruits, we raise bees for honey production, ensuring pollination for our trees and providing delicious honey for our customers. Our bees, lovingly named 'the girls' by Kenny, are gentle and contribute significantly to the vibrancy of our orchard. We also have a family dog, Tanker, who has learned to respect these industrious creatures.

We offer delicious varieties throughout different seasons, such as apples available in September or peaches in late July and August.

Visiting our orchard provides a hands-on experience, where guests are encouraged to pick their own produce and enjoy the serene setting. It’s a family-friendly environment where our grandchildren love to indulge in fresh fruit and explore the grounds by the pond.
