About Us
We are a team dedicated to highlighting the incredible frontier that Alaska's farming communities occupy. Originally settled by trappers and miners, our state saw another wave of pioneers—those who dared to be homesteaders and turn into farmers or ranchers. These brave individuals opened up the last frontier, facing daunting landscapes to grow food and foster communities.
Our half-day farm tours provide a perfect window into the workings of today's Alaskan farms as well as the storied past of homesteads that have shaped the region. Our tours include stops at historical sites and living homesteads, giving visitors focused insight into what it's like to be an Alaskan farmer or rancher in today's world.
For the 2025 season, our tours run in Palmer twice a day, morning and afternoon, from June 18th to September 14th. Each tour must be reserved a day in advance due to the farms' operating schedules. However, last-minute tickets may sometimes be availed by reaching the Palmer Visitor Center at 8:45 am or 1:45 pm, contingent on available spots.
Our place on the Arctic's edge challenges Alaskan farmers to invent innovative agricultural solutions despite their smaller farm sizes. The sweeping wheat fields or vast combines you might expect elsewhere are replaced by Alaskan ingenuity and perseverance that drives these essential practices forward.
Our adventures aren't solely confined to the Yak Ridge of Palmer. We offer options for longer tours across the state, from Anchorage to Fairbanks. Whatever your group size, we can arrange as per your preference, engaging and educating as you traverse our beautiful state.
