About Us

Bear Viewing in Alaska offers awe-inspiring wildlife adventures that allow participants to observe the majestic Alaskan brown bears in their natural surroundings. Our tours are designed for everyone, whether you are an amateur photo enthusiast or a seasoned professional, promising unmatched opportunities to capture extraordinary images.

We conduct our tours at Chinitna Bay and Silver Salmon Creek, where guests can enjoy the scenic beauty from both boats and planes. The specially designed boats enable access to shallow waters, allowing exploration along the coastline regardless of tide conditions.

For the 2025 season, exciting updates include the expansion of accommodations with an enclosed bathroom and additional seating inside our flagship vessel, The Alaskan Gamefisher. Custom-built ladders on both sides of the boat will ease boarding and disembarking, enhancing the overall experience.

The tours are led by Captain Mel Erickson, who brings over 40 years of experience and the requisite skills to safely navigate the challenging Cook Inlet waters. His expertise guarantees an insightful and safe expedition into the heart of Alaska’s rugged wilderness.

Our tours run daily, offering unparalleled experiences in bear viewing locales accessible only under Captain Erickson’s skilled guidance. We look forward to another successful season filled with incredible bear viewing moments in 2025.
