At the heart of our agricultural community stands the Maine State Pomological Society, orchestrating the annual Maine Apple Sunday. This celebrated event heralds the peak of apple harvesting, an eagerly anticipated time when early summer varieties mingle with the first picks of the main apple crop. Orchards scattered across the state, from Wells to Caribou, join in the festivities, offering delightful activities and complimentary tastings of apple products to celebrate the season.

Among the orchards taking part, Bailey's Orchard in Whitefield offers apple sales directly from our barn and orchards. Visitors enjoy free apple squares and can participate in our exciting apple prize drawings, making for a fun-filled day in the orchard.

Boothby’s Orchard and Winery in Livermore transforms into a delightful hub with wagon rides, wine tastings, and an array of cheese and cider samples. Guests can embrace the charm of our farm by meeting our animals, exploring the vineyard, and savoring a beautiful day with the backdrop of our apple-laden orchards.

Kents Hill Orchard adds a unique touch with its Macs and Honeycrisp pick-your-own offerings. In addition to the treats available at The Appleshed bakery, the scenic views of the western mountains amp up the apple picking experience. Our KHO Car Show further enriches the weekend festivities.

The Apple Farm in Fairfield keeps the atmosphere lively with wagon rides, apple picking, and spirited fiddle tunes, while places like Sweetser’s Apple Barrel and Orchards and McDougal Orchards highlight community and generosity, offering samples and donating a portion of sales to local initiatives.
