About Us
Clinch-Powell Clothesline of Quilts is a five county driving trail providing back-roads adventures through beautiful rural East TN with the purpose of stimulating economy. The Trail features forty 8'x 8' painted quilt blocks on barns and buildings. The Clothesline of Quilts in Appalachia is a driving trail from Southern Ohio through Eastern and Central Kentucky and Western West Virginia into East and Upper East Tennessee into Western North Carolina and Western Virginia. These interlocking trails wind through the rural landscape and feature 8'x8' painted quilt blocks attached to barns and buildings. The purpose of the Clothesline is to get tourists off the interstates and onto country roads to stimulate local economy. In the Clinch-Powell Region the trails pass by art and craft studios and shops, produce stands and numerous farms, wineries, corn mazes, orchards, country restaurants, and other small businesses. They pass breathtaking mountain vistas, picturesque farm ponds, free-flowing rivers and trout streams and gorgeous lakes. Maps are avaiable on our website of each of the five counties in the Clinch-Powell Region: www.clinchpowell.net/quilts.html
