About Us
DWD Longhorns is founded on sustainably managing soil and livestock. We invite guests to share our vast and dark night skies while listening to the music of owls and coyotes. By day, guests may enjoy the flora and fauna of the Balcones Escarpment of the Texas Hill Country including our herd of historically correct Texas Longhorn cattle. Two wet-weather creeks run through our property and near by are the Sabinal and Medina Rivers. This location offers great birdwatching, off-trail hiking and equestrian trail riding. The rustic masonry cabin provides ideal solitude for a writers' retreat, lodging for Plein Air painters, and students of the soil. From Bandera, take 16 No. to Hwy 470. Drive 12 miles to Tarpley and turn south on 462. Drive 5.5 miles to CR 211. Turn west and drive 6 miles to the Seco Valley Ranch sign. Turn left and the headquarters is 2 miles past the front gate. From Hondo, drive north on 462 approximately 21 miles to CR 211. Turn left and drive 6 miles to the Seco Valley Ranch sign. From Utopia, take 187 south to CR 354.
