This rambling 19th-Century farmhouse is furnished as if someone stepped out in the 1930's or 40's, yet it has all the modern conveniences of home. The farmhouse is completely furnished to accommodate groups, families, and couples. The home has 5 bedrooms and sleeps up to 12 guests. Located at the foot of the Peaks of Otter, near the Blue Ridge Parkway and the National DDay Memorial. In the early 1900's, Elmo Johnson and his wife Freddie lived and raised their family in the house. They planted their first apple tree in 1919. The secluded home is in the middle of 250 acres of orchards, lush pastures, and shady woods. It is located a ½-mile from the nearest dwelling. It is surrounded by the animals that you would expect to find on a self-sufficient farm of that era. Animals include cattle, horses, burros, dogs, cats, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, and turkeys. Retreat to a secluded getaway vacation farm rental house in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Enjoy waking up to the rosters crow and the cows low. Forget about the smoke and the smog, breath deeply of the fresh air that flows down the side of the famous Peaks of Otter in Virginia. Hike through the hills on the trails that have been used for many centuries BY both man and beast. Watch a baby sheep or calf look for momma.
