About Us
The Plantation Agriculture Museum, located in Scott, Arkansas, is dedicated to preserving the region's rich farming history. Our museum is housed across a variety of buildings, including the main museum which was originally constructed as a general store in 1912. Additionally, we feature the Dortch Gin Exhibit, home to a 1916 cotton gin, and Seed Warehouse #5, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can also explore our Historic Tractor Exhibit, which was completed in 2018.
We offer interactive experiences for both children and adults, allowing them to discover how crops were historically grown, harvested, and transformed into food and products from the time of Arkansas's statehood in 1836 through World War II. Our museum provides an educational and engaging environment for all ages.
Special annual events at the Plantation Agriculture Museum include the Antique Tractor and Engine Show, drawing enthusiasts and families alike. Given our close proximity to downtown Little Rock, we are a convenient and scenic destination within the Delta area, making us a popular stop for cyclists traversing Harper’s Loop route.
We also offer live demonstrations of water pumping and cotton ginning, enhancing the educational experience by presenting real-time insight into the workings of historical farming technology.
