About Us
We, the Harmanns - Mark, Barbara, and Brittain, proudly own and operate Homestead Animal Farm, a cherished site in Southeastern Wisconsin. Our farm, located just two miles north of North Lake Wisconsin along Highway 83, has been lovingly held within our family for over 140 years. Over the decades, our farm has been a haven for a wide array of animals, including miniature donkeys, alpacas, pygmy goats, dairy goats, sheep, turkeys, peacocks, pheasants, rabbits, ducks, geese, chickens, cats, and dogs.
In 1998, we built our first grass-roofed barn for the donkeys and goats, followed by a grass-roofed chicken coop in 2000. The sight of goats and chickens lounging atop these grass roofs became a charming local landmark. In 2002, we introduced our first corn maze, a venture we lovingly tended to until our last maze in 2019. We continue to delight visitors with our celebrated Homestead Farm Fresh Quail Eggs year-round and seasonal Homestead Honey.
Homestead Animal Farm is a destination for fun and learning, offering educational and entertaining experiences for corporate outings, church groups, youth gatherings, and school field trips from May through October. By appointment, we provide a chance to engage with nature and learn about farm life. Our farm’s rich history and unique offerings have made it a memorable destination for countless visitors.
We welcome organized groups for field trips, offering guided tours to experience the joy of interacting with our animals in the barn and pastures. School and group tours are only available by appointment, highlighting our commitment to providing personalized and engaging visits. Be among the many who have cherished their visit to our farm, leave with unforgettable memories of petting our miniature donkeys and enjoying hayrides.
