About Us
The Kelseyville Pear Festival is a cherished event that began on October 16, 1993, initiated by the Kelseyville Business Association. Originally, the festival featured a modest array of street vendors, a barbeque, a scarecrow contest, and one stage for music, attracting about 1,500 visitors. Fast forward to today, and it unfolds on the last Saturday of September, drawing nearly 10,000 attendees. The festival is now a vibrant celebration with musicians and dancers across three stages, over 100 craft and food vendors, and special exhibits throughout the town.
Our festival strives to celebrate the agricultural heritage of the Kelseyville and Big Valley areas. Main Street shopkeepers showcase their finest products, while the all-volunteer festival committee continuously enhances the agricultural exhibits, Tractor and Engine Show, fine art displays, and children's areas. The history of Kelseyville farming, along with pioneer family stories and unique events, is beautifully explained in the Pear Pavilion.
We proudly partner with the Kelseyville Business Association, the Lake County Horse Council, Ely Stage Stop, and the Lake County Quilt Trail. This collaboration ensures that our event promotes a strong sense of community and brings endless enjoyment to all who attend.
