About Us

Welcome to Leavitt Meadows Pack Station! Nestled in the Eastern Sierra, just outside of Bridgeport, California, our pack station has been a cherished destination since the early 1900s. Our family has proudly managed and operated it since 1959, celebrating over 60 years of dedicated service to our guests.

At Leavitt Meadows, you can embark on a memorable horseback wilderness adventure as easily as reaching a popular roadside lake or stream. The breathtaking high country of the Eastern Sierra awaits you, filled with pristine lakes, rushing streams, and majestic mountains. Wander through picturesque valleys adorned with Lodgepole Pine, White Fir, Quaker Aspens, and a vibrant array of wildflowers.

Conveniently situated on Sonora Pass (Highway 108), just a few miles west of Highway 395, our location provides easy access with a paved road leading you right to our door. Whether you're interested in trail rides, pack trips, backpacker drops, or fully hosted basecamp outings, we have something for everyone. Reservations begin in January and fill up quickly, so be sure to secure your spot today by contacting us!

Leavitt Meadows Pack Station also holds distinction for its adherence to specific safety and health guidelines, ensuring a safe experience amidst the wonders of mountainous terrain. While all riders must be at least seven years old, there are specific requirements for Body Mass Index (BMI), with a maximum BMI of 32 for female riders and 34 for male riders, in addition to a weight limit of 250 lbs. These guidelines help ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure for all.
