About Us
Our pack station offers the thrilling experience of horseback and mule rides into the captivating High Sierra of California. Located at the edge of the John Muir Wilderness, we invite families and adventurers alike to explore the stunning scenery of the Eastern Sierra. Whether you're looking for a leisurely ride along the scenic McGee Creek or a more extensive backcountry pack trip, our skilled horses and mules will lead the way.
Safety and the well-being of our animals are our top priorities. We offer unique trips, such as 'drop camps' and 'dunnage' trips, to take you to picturesque high country lakes, streams, and meadows. Our services extend to the breathtaking landscapes of John Muir Wilderness, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks. Plan your next wilderness getaway with us!
Our pack station welcomes visitors from June through September, offering regular rides during this period. In the off-season, mule and horseback rides take place in the Alabama Hills and the Tungsten Hills. These rides are private, with a two-rider minimum, and need to be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Enjoy a 2-3 hour ride with scenic stops for photos and enjoy group discounts for larger gatherings.
McGee Creek Pack Station operates under special permissions from the USDA US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service. With a focus on inclusivity, all members of the public are welcome to enjoy our facilities and services.
