About Us

Montrose Farms, established in 1824 when Indiana began offering sections of land for settlement, is steeped in history. Acquired by veterans like James B. Brown, the farm's legacy is captured in its continuous cultivation by families over two centuries.

Purchased in 2007 by Chris and Lori Lovely, they've renovated the late 19th-century farmhouse and expanded the property for alpacas. The expansion included restoring the large barn and pastures for the growing alpaca herd, ensuring the farm maintains its historical charm while improving its utility.

Our focus is on breeding suri alpacas known for their luster and gentle nature. We offer various mixed-heritage and pure bloodlines, ensuring a diverse and vibrant population.

We prioritize sustainable farming, practicing humane animal husbandry and eco-friendly methods. Our farm produces organic hay, vegetables, and eggs, creating a self-sustained ecosystem.

On our family-run farm, animals are our top priority. From alpacas to barn cats, each is cared for with dedication, ensuring their health and happiness.
