About Us
At Morning Glory Farm, nestled in the serene environment of Martha’s Vineyard, we pride ourselves on producing a diverse array of fresh vegetables, fruits, and flowers. Founded by James and Deborah Athearn in 1975, our farm has expanded over the years to cultivate around 65 acres dedicated to nurturing soil and crop diversity. Our operations include a bustling farmstand, a pasture for grazing livestock, and a bakery where delightful scratch-made breads and treats are crafted daily.
Our farm is well-known for its commitment to cultivating a wide variety of crops in small successive plantings, ensuring the freshest produce reaches our farmstand. We are passionate about conservation and have enrolled over 25 acres in the National Organic Program for certification, ensuring our produce is non-GMO and free from harmful chemicals.
The dedication to sustainable farming is at the heart of our mission, striving not only to enrich the community's diet with wholesome food but also to enhance the lives of our staff and the surrounding environment. Our commitment to sustainability goes hand in hand with the belief that we are the temporary caretakers of the land, and it’s our responsibility to pass these soils to future generations in good condition.
Additionally, we offer various seasonal activities to engage with the community. From flower picking to fresh farm produce CSA shares, our offerings are designed to provide not just food, but an experience that brings visitors closer to the joy of nature. Visitors to our farm are welcome to explore and enjoy the pastoral landscape but are kindly asked to stay on the farm lanes to ensure the safety of our crops.
Join us in celebrating the bounties of nature cultivated right here on Martha’s Vineyard, and become a part of our extended farm family.
