The Orchards of Concklin

The Orchards of Concklin is a beautiful family farm in the lower Hudson Valley. The Concklin Family has owned and continuously farmed the land since 1712. Currently we are actively farming 65 acres of mixed fruit and vegetable land. Our crop year starts in March with indoor pot and cut tulips, progresses through bedding plants, strawberries, greenhouse tomatoes + mesculin. By June we are picking early summer vegetables and the season rapidly accelerates into sweet corn, peaches and field tomatoes in July. August begins the harvest of summer apples, pears and the peak of our peach season. Pick your own apples are available weekends in the fall. The farm also does school tours by appoinment in the fall. The Orchards offers weekend agritainment which includes a corn maze, fantastic blow -up amusements, and on Sundays tractor rides. The Orchards on premises bakery offers 18 varieties of pies, cookies and farm style cakes. Our apple cider donuts are ranked fourth in the nation and must be tasted to be believed (also a family recipe). We press fresh cider yearround. The farm market (open 8-6 daily) features many gourmet items as well as fresh local produce in season. We network with other local farms to provide a customers with the full array of produce that can be grown in New York. The Orchards also markets its many products through farmers markets in NYC, Long Island and Westchester (check our website for locations and seasons). We are members of the New York Farm Bureau, the Pride of New York program, and the Farm Market Federation. Located in scenic Rockland County on the west side of the lower Hudson River. Easy directions from N.Y.C. --cross the George Washington Bridge, upper level right hand lane; take the Palisades Interstate Parkway north to exit 12. Turn left off the exit ramp, go five hundred feet, turn right at traffic light (rt 45). The farmis one half mile on the right hand side. Our farmis 35 minutes from the George Washington Bridge and only fifteen minutes from the west bank of the Tappan Zee bridge.
