About Us
Hammond Livestock Company is nestled on the summit of the San Gabriel mountain range, approximately 30 miles southeast of Hollister. We sit squarely in the middle of California, with the San Joaquin valley to our east and the Salinas valley to our west. Our history dates back to 1965 when Jerry & Jane Hammond decided to settle here, and we have since been cultivating the finest Angus beef within our third-generation cattle ranch.
Our cattle roam over 6500 acres following an expansion in the 80s, focusing on natural and sustainable practices. We deeply believe in being guardians of this land and work diligently to create a harmonious balance between cattle and nature. We ensure our cattle experience low-stress management, raising them right here in our golden Californian hills.
In 2020, an evolution led by Mitch Hammond saw us beginning to offer our high-quality beef directly to you, the consumer. From breeding, raising, to harvesting, the process is meticulously managed by our family right on the ranch. We invite you to visit and experience our Ranch Retreat cabins, join our Farm-to-Fork cookouts, and enjoy concerts in our cow pastures.
Alongside our Angus beef, we offer vacation experiences that allow visitors to witness our commitment to sustainable agriculture firsthand. These experiences are crafted to educate and immerse our guests in the life of a working ranch, celebrating our heritage while looking to the future.
