About Us

Scotia Acres Alpacas, nestled in Lumberton, NJ, is ideally positioned near Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York. The primary residence, dating back to 1832, preserves its original charm with maintained floors, woodwork, and eight functional fireplaces. The property spans five acres, with an additional 48 acres recently acquired to support our expanding alpaca herd.

Inspired by local media coverage, our family embraced the alpaca lifestyle, transforming our interests into a family-run enterprise. Jim JR oversees farm management, while Jim SR and Marilyn handle special projects and financial oversight. Marilyn also manages fiber production, and Bill takes on the role of our farm photographer.

At Scotia Acres, we dedicate ourselves to nurturing healthy, lively, and happy alpacas. Our remarkable herd consists mainly of Suri alpacas bred from prestigious bloodlines. We have also initiated Huacaya breeding to broaden our herd's diversity.

We are approachable and eager to discuss our herd with visitors. We welcome farm visits by appointment and are generally available most days and evenings.
