Shadow Mountain Vineyards is celebrated as one of the oldest and most prestigious vineyards in San Diego County. Our vineyards produce award-winning wines that consistently outperform vintages from more renowned regions across the nation. With roots dating back to 1945, when Italian-born Gus Mase and his wife Helen planted their first vines, the vineyard has thrived in a climate reminiscent of Gus's native Italy, making Sunshine Summit the ideal location. The warm, dry atmosphere and sunlit hillsides provided the perfect setting for our vineyard to flourish, and those initial plantings have grown to become the foundation of our current success.

Today, visitors to Shadow Mountain Vineyards can enjoy breathtaking mountain views, refresh themselves in the clean air, and slow down from the pace of everyday life to savor some of the finest wines in the region.
