About Us
Simple Harvest Farm Organics is dedicated to maintaining an organic approach across our 20-acre farm. Our practices are guided by a commitment to environmental stewardship, initiated in 2008 with a vow to embrace organic solutions at any cost. Over the years, we've proven that a fully organic operation is not only feasible but also sustainable. All of our farm inputs, including feed and seed, are certified organic, ensuring they do no harm to our surroundings. For example, we refuse to use Pyganic because it can be harmful to bees, and we avoid manure from non-organic farms due to potential contaminants like GMOs and antibiotics. Fortunately, our own livestock supply ample organic manure for the farm.
Our farm focuses on an organic and vegetarian diet, feeding our livestock corn, oats, wheat, barley, soybeans, vitamins, minerals, and apple cider vinegar. We raise animals on pasture and provide them with hay, without confining them during winter, although our hens tend to stay in their coops during snow. Our approach ensures no use of antibiotics, hormones, or additives, only wholesome nutrition.
The symbiotic relationship between the plants and animals on our farm results in a stronger ecosystem. Animals provide manure that enriches the soil, which in turn supports plant growth, providing food and a stable environment for the animals. We take pride in these natural cycles that strengthen the environment, and enjoy working alongside our flora and fauna.
We attribute our success and approach to the support of a community that values organic and sustainable food as much as we do. As a form of gratitude, we regularly donate food to those in need, either through food shelves or directly to families. Our food is always appreciated by those who receive it!
