About Us
Nestled in Scott, Arkansas, the Plantation Agriculture Museum offers a glimpse into the state's rich farming heritage. Our museum complex features several historic buildings including the main museum, which was originally a general store dating back to 1912. Visitors can explore the Dortch Gin Exhibit which houses a 1916 cotton gin, as well as Seed Warehouse #5, a structure of significant historical value listed on the National Register of Historic Places, alongside a Historic Tractor Exhibit that was established in 2018.
The museum is an educational hub where we offer live demonstrations of water pumping and the cotton ginning process, allowing visitors to understand how crops were traditionally managed from the earliest days of Arkansas statehood in 1836 up to the end of World War II. It's a family-friendly, interactive destination where both children and adults can learn about the growth, harvesting, and processing of crops. Our special annual events, such as the Antique Tractor and Engine Show, are a highlight for many visitors.
Located conveniently close to downtown Little Rock, visiting us offers an enjoyable drive into the Delta, making it a perfect stop for those traveling through the area. The museum is also a noted destination for cyclists exploring Harper's Loop route, providing a delightful break with a touch of history.
