About Us
Our family acquired a 35-acre piece of land near Clayton, North Carolina, and it has since grown into a thriving farm. It started as a family garden where fresh produce and numerous animals were part of daily life. In 1984, the first greenhouse was constructed by my parents, with the purpose of providing garden plants to the community and safeguarding their houseplants during winter. The demand quickly exceeded expectations, leading to the establishment of multiple greenhouses and the sale of diverse plant varieties.
By 1987, we created Auntie M's Enchanted Garden, a division dedicated to herbs and herbal products, teaching, and fairs. After my parents retired in 2007, I took over, merging Auntie M's with Mizio's Greenhouses and renamed the farm to Toad Song Farm. This name reflects the natural symphony of frogs and toads that can be heard around.
We envision Toad Song Farm as a place where people come to experience nature. We offer retreats, workshops, and a beautiful lavender labyrinth for meditation. The farm includes nature trails and a variety of educational gardens where we host activities such as herb cultivation and country living workshops.
Our farm not only shares the beauty of nature but also provides hands-on learning experiences in farming through our apprentice programs. Participants can spend mornings working in greenhouses and are rewarded with meals and gifts for their gardens. We encourage everyone to connect with us and stay updated on farm life through our Facebook page.
With a mission to plant the seeds of a sustainable future, Toad Song Farm remains dedicated to nurturing spirits and minds in our community. We look forward to welcoming more visitors and expanding our offerings as a central hub for agricultural learning and personal rejuvenation.
