About Us
At Walnut Ridge, our passion for raising llamas is evident as we have been dedicated to this endeavor for more than 25 years. We specialize in cultivating a new generation of quality llamas, usually welcoming 10-15 crias, or baby llamas, into the world annually. These young llamas are available for various purposes, including showing, breeding stock, and as companion or guardian animals. Our herd typically consists of around 50 llamas.
We operate as an Agri-tourism farm, having opened our doors to the public since 2006. We take pride in sustaining and nurturing our llamas in a loving environment, adhering to responsible farming practices. Our commitment to high-quality care underpins everything we do, as we strive to offer an engaging and educational experience for our visitors.
As a working llama farm, we offer a variety of farm-based activities that enrich the experience of our guests. These include farm tours, birthday celebrations, art classes, painting gatherings, school field trips, and summer camps. These events are designed not only to entertain but also to educate our visitors about llamas and farm life.
One of the magical moments at our farm occurs during the fall when the llamas, especially the younger ones, can be seen 'pronking' or playfully leaping about during their playtime in the late afternoons. This joyful behavior is a testament to the vibrant and nurturing environment we provide for our animals.
